Where to Go When Visiting Georgia, USA

If you visit the state of Georgia in the United States you will experience a state full of the culture and history of the country. If you have been wondering what the southern experience is all about then visit Georgia and find out for yourself. Famous people have lived here like Martin Luther King and it is also in this state where the movie Gone with the Wind was to have happened. Variety characterisizes the state of Georgia. There are state parks, and beaches, charming streets and other various forms of entertainment and activities to do. If you happen to visit Georgia, then you should not miss these great tourist sites.

The town of Blue Ridge is known for being the center of art in the state. Because of the many arts and crafts galleries and live music performance you can enjoy, the place was fondly nicknamed ‘Switzerland of the South.’ Around this small town is a wooden area where you can go trail hiking with your friends and you can also pas by the Ocoee River where you can enjoy a round of kayaking.

Pine Mountain is another town adjoining the Calloway Gardens resort which is complete with golf courses, beautiful gardens, and lakes. The town proper is where you can find things local and here you get a taste of southern cuisine at their traditional restaurants; there are also antique shops and other shops selling local items. There is no problem with accommodations since you can find many in Calloway Gardens or in the nearby city where you can rent apartments in LaGrange, GA.

Tybee island is a few hours’ drive from Savannah, which is an island of sandy beaches and sand dunes. This is a small island of 22 square miles but here you can enjoy a lot of water activities like sailing, and fishing and other land activities as well. You can also simply laze around the beach and watch the beautiful view from Tybee.

If you want to go trail hiking through the Cohutta Mountains of Georgia you can follow the Panther Creek Trail for a great hiking adventure with your friends. There are majestic waterfalls to view along the trail which are breathtaking and these falls flow in multiple tiers to a pool of water down below which is crystal clear. This place is one of great peace and quiet and is a great place to do some quiet meditation while listening to the flow of water from the falls. The many campsites around would be a great place to enjoy the place with your friends.

In the Providence National Park lies the Providence Canyon which is Georgia’s version of the Grand Canyon. The rock formations are very colorful too look at and very striking especially during the summer months. You can do rock climbing in these canyons.
