Options for Small Apartments
If you are looking for cheap apartments then there are many benefits to having somewhere a little smaller. If you don’t have much cash to spend on apartment rentals, then you will need to find ways to bring down the expense, and by going for smaller apartments, 1 room apartments etc, it is possible to achieve this in a good way. Often having just a small space to crash is more than we need, and particularly for some who perhaps live alone and spend most of their time out of their apartment, or for those who are just looking for a temporary arrangement. IF you want cheap apartments then you need to reduce that cost in some way. Here you have several options, but it is by far preferable to choose nice one bedroom apartments than it is to move somewhere that is in a very bad area and prone to crime, or somewhere that is badly maintained and that will thus leak and collect mold.
When you choose smaller flats to find cheap apartments there are several different ‘categories’ to select from and these will suit different people to different degrees. For instance you can choose to simply have a small apartment which will have its own bathroom, kitchen and everything else you want, but which will simply be small compared to some apartments for rent. This will still be relatively expensive compared to a studio apartment. A studio is the next step down essentially from a 1 bedroom apartment, and here you will be staying in a single room that has a kitchenette and a bedroom built in. This will mean that you have one fairly large room, but that you have no retreat that’s your own bedroom and that you cook in the same room where you watch TV. This actually has some advantages and means that you can enjoy entertaining while you cook or watching your favourite program – though it does also mean that you are going to be sleeping in the same room where your rubbish is and where you prepared garlic.
The next step down from this is a bedsit. With a bedsit you don’t have your own kitchen at all, and often you don’t have your own bathroom. Rather, you share a communal bathroom and kitchen and have only your own bedroom. This is a very basic solution, and whether it is pleasant will depend on whether or not you get on with the neighbors.
There are other options too. You can always for instance rent a single room in house, or you can go for a house share in which you team up with several people to pay rent on a larger house. Often house shares will be between three to six people, but you can always find apartments to rent for two people and move in with a friend.
If you need a cheap place to stay, or aren’t planning on renting long, then getting somewhere small is a great move. If you can’t fit your stuff in and aren’t willing to part ways with it, then consider using a storage unit.
